Book News: New Books by "Harry Potter" author J.K. Rowling

It has just been announced that J.K. Rowling is going to publish her first adult novel with Little Brown, who also happens to be Stephenie Meyer's publisher.

Unfortunately no details about the book or its publication date have been released.  J.K. Rowling's website, which is going to be relaunched in the spring, says that further details will be announced later in the year.  However she does say that it will be very different from the Harry Potter series.

However Harry Potter fans will be happy to hear that Bloomsbury has announced it will be publishing illustrated editions of all seven books starting in 2013.   E-books are also going to be available for purchase through the Pottermore website, which is currently only available to beta users.

What type of novel do you think J.K. Rowling's adult novel will be?  One of her neighbours, author Ian Rankin, thinks that it might be a mystery novel.
